Do competing brands of Radar work with the Lowrance?

I wasn't exactly sure on this myself so I asked one of my friends at Lowrance. Lucas Steward know just about everything about the Lowrance line of products. This is what he said:
"No. It has to be a Lowrance radar to work.
I suggest the Broadband 3G or 4g radar

I can say that I have had both the 3G and 4G Lowrance Radar and I really like the 4G model.
