S14:E2 - “Captains For Clean Water” (2019)
Daniel Andrews of Captains for Clean Water discusses the state of the Everglades.
Captains Tom and Rich bring aboard Captain Daniel Andrews, founder of Captains for Clean Water. Captain Daniel discusses the red tide crisis, as well as the water quality and plumbing issues found in the Everglades. Captains for Clean Water started in 2016, and has continued to raise awareness, especially to fishermen, of the water quality in Florida. While fishing in Sandy Key, Daniel notices they are fishing only 10-15 miles away from hyper salinity areas, which can be deadly for the sea life. While fishing, Daniel urges for people to take action in protecting wildlife, and to become aware of the events taking place in the state of Florida.
