So we get a lot of questions about what kind of rod should I get for inshore fishing?
We say, the 7 foot 8 to 17-pound class rod is about your best all around. You can do a little bit of everything from snapper fishing to small Tarpon and everything in between. Then it comes down to what kind of rod. Well, we've trusted St. Croix Rods for quite a few years now and they are just the absolute best quality rods and they make a variety of different model rods from the good, better, and best type model.
Starting out at the introductory series this is the St. Croix Rod Mojo Series: Mojo inshore and they have just a great quality rod. This rod is competitively priced and the quality components from the guides to the reel seats. Just everything is a super quality. We use these while guiding every day. Just beating them up. It is amazing how durable and just a great all-around rod it is. Good finish, good feel to it and it is super durable. I have not broken one guide after years of use so really high quality for a price that you really can't beat.
Then stepping up to the next model the kind of the mid-series here. And this is the one that I use the most probably my favorite all-around is the Avid Series. This is the Avid Inshore and this is just a little bit lighter a little smoother a little more enjoyable action to it. Just a little higher quality on everything around it mid-range price point the guides are a little lighter a little smoother just all-around better feel really good all-around rod cast well, The same 8 to 17-pound action.
Then stepping up if you're really want to treat yourself to the best. This year is a lot of fun. The Legend Extreme; these are just super smooth at the highest quality rod. You can go out and buy, you know, it's kind of like getting into the fast sports car. You don't need it but it sure is fun to have so no matter what your price point goes with that 8 to 17-pound Action 7 foot Rod. You can't go wrong for inshore and then just look for your price point whether it's the good better best. St. Croix's got a rod in there. That's perfect for every price point.
